Max Friedman is a director of cabaret, concerts, and musical theatre. His major NY credits include: Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band (at Feinstein’s / 54 Below), The Worst People You Know by Natalie Tenenbaum & Kevin Waznor (54 Below), Endless Summer: Zack Zadek (54 Below), Made For Each Other: Broadway Meets Andrew McMahon (54 Below), Julia Mattison Is Ruby Manger Live! (54 Below), The Bluest Ink: A Multimedia Sondheim Revue (le poisson rouge), I Could Use A Drink: former Set List guest Drew Gasparini (Joe's Pub), and 6 by Zack Zadek (NYMF 2012). Friedman was nominated for a Carbonell Theater Award for his directorial work on The Longing and The Short of It by Daniel Maté. As an Assistant Director he’s worked on Jasper In Deadland, The Other Josh Cohen, Uncool The Party, 35mm, and many projects with Joe Iconis. Friedman is currently in residence as the Associate Director of Programming at the legendary cabaret institution Don't Tell Mama where he has most recently helmed a series of developmental presentations of new musicals including Songs For Slutty Girls by also former Set List guest Kailey Marshall.
